According to a recent leak, Qualcomm is working on a version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus that might be launched by the end of May. The firm is expected to announce the new Snapdragon seventh series SoC at the same time.
The chipset will include four Cortex-A710 cores running at 2.46 GHz, four Cortex-A510 cores running at 1.80 GHz, and an Adreno 662 GPU. Rumor has it that Samsung is expected to use a 4-nm manufacturing technology to manufacture the new SoC. The upgrade might be referred to as Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 in comparison to the previous iteration.
Xiaomi, OnePlus, Lenovo, and Motorola are already developing new smartphones based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus processor. The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra might be the world’s first device powered by the flagship SoC, while the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 could be used in the Redmi Note 12 series.
