In 2022, Xiaomi has yet to announce a single smartphone under the POCO brand. Regardless, the number of POCO models is expected to skyrocket in the near future, and one of the upcoming new products will be the POCO M4 Pro, which will lack support for fifth-generation (5G) connectivity.
Recall that the manufacturer introduced the POCO M4 Pro 5G as the Indian version of the Redmi Note 11 on Dimensity 810 at the end of last year. Until now, the smartphone has only been available in India, but it will soon be joined by a younger sibling.
The POCO M4 Pro 4G will be powered by a 12nm Helio G96 SoC. The processor will be paired with 6-8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and will have a peak frequency of 2.05 GHz. Users will receive 128 GB of storage in the maximum configuration for data storage.
The smartphone’s main camera will feature a quartet of optical modules, led by a standard 108-megapixel sensor. Until now, no POCO phone has had a telephoto lens. This device will not be an exception, unfortunately.
The Xiaomi POCO M4 Pro 4G will have a Full HD+ display with a diagonal of approximately 6.5 inches. It will be based on an IPS-matrix and will support a higher image refresh rate (90 Hz). A 5000 mAh battery with 33-watt fast wired charging will power the power subsystem.
Basic connectivity and tracking features like Bluetooth / Wi-Fi wireless controllers, GPS navigation are not missing. However, the device packs an NFC module. The model will be released with MIUI 13 firmware, which will work in tandem with the Android 11 operating system. It can be unlocked using a side biometric (fingerprint) sensor or a 16-megapixel selfie camera with Face Unlock support.
At this time, the price of the Xiaomi POCO M4 Pro 4G has not yet been announced. In India, the base memory version of the 5G model costs around $185.
