One of the most complex components of a smartphone is the processor. Commonly called “System on a chip” (SoC) by phone manufacturers and enthusiasts. With the purpose of these processors or Soc, being to receive and execute every command, coordinating communications between all the components in your device. It is a heavy task, with billions of calculation and work done by these smartphone processors per second.
This leads us to the idea of having a strong processor capable of performing all tasks efficiently and swiftly. But our focus in this article will be between two top smartphone processors, MediaTek vs. Snapdragon, more accurately a particular processor in their series, MediaTek Dimensity 1000C and Snapdragon 765G.
MediaTek is a semiconductor company in Taiwan, founded in 1997. Snapdragon is another SoC or processor that is manufactured by a company called Qualcomm- an IT equipment production and semiconductor company based in San Diego, California, U.S., founded in the year 1985.
Both are efficient in making quality processors used in today’s mobile devices. If you are conversant with these two processors, you would know they are popular and quite very efficient. Though it is regularly started that Snapdragon is a better performing SoC than MediaTek; which happens to be a cheaper processor, by almost half the price of Snapdragon powered devices.

With Snapdragon edging out MediaTek in the ability to cool better and not overheat faster; possess better battery usage and performance, and is slightly more efficient. We can say it is a more powerful/reliable chipset than MediaTek. MediaTek is also a great, top quality, high-performance processor that comes as a good cost option, cheap and still gives you reliable performance.
This doesn’t mean it might necessarily be the case when we look into different versions of each processor. The comparison here would be MediaTek Dimensity 1000C vs. Snapdragon 765G, and diving into it will help in revealing differences noteworthy. You can’t seem to rank anyone poor or high when comparing two very good players in the field.
Similarities and Differences
In comparing Snapdragon 765G vs. Dimensity 1000C specification, you will find entirely quite differences from each other in terms of their CPU, GPU, Performance and even Connectivity, but SoCs feature an Octa-core processor.

Seeing the specifications of these two processors is one thing, but how they perform is something else on its own.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1000C was recently launched, and was designed for the U.S. market. After being tested and compared in performance to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, it scored 601 points single core tests and 2,365 points in the multi core performance test on Geekbench 5’s test on performance. Snapdragon 765G scored 607 points in single core tests and 1,777 points in the multi core tests, which is quite lower than MediaTek Dimensity 1000C. With the difference in multicore performance test, MediaTek Dimensity 1000C got the edge here.

Can we conclude now that Dimensity 1000C is finally better than Snapdragon 765G? The recent MediaTek processors are quite competitive and can best some Snapdragon chipsets. This doesn’t mean MediaTek has released better chipset than every Snapdragon chipset, especially as Snapdragon is known as the best processor for Android smartphones. But in this comparison, MediaTek Dimensity 1000C comes out on top of Snapdragon 765G.
It should also be noted that in real world scenarios, to find a major difference might be hard. Because both processors are very efficient, and Snapdragon 765 beat Dimensity 1000C in some aspects, like battery life, energy usage, and even offers better specs. But for general performance, the new Mediatek chipset wins.
