These features, AI Defocus Eye Protection and AI Deepfake Detection, were recently showcased at MWC Shanghai 2024 during their keynote address, “The Human-AI Synergy: Smart Devices to Empower People.”
AI Defocus Eye Protection
With increasing screen time, nearsightedness is becoming more prevalent. To combat this issue, Honor has developed AI Defocus Eye Protection. This feature utilizes AI to simulate the effects of defocus glasses directly on your smartphone screen. Defocus glasses are known to promote eye health by creating a subtle blur in your peripheral vision, allowing you to maintain clear central vision. This process helps slow down eye elongation, a major contributing factor to nearsightedness.
Studies have shown a reduction in temporary nearsightedness by an average of 13 degrees after just 25 minutes of reading using Honor's AI Defocus Eye Protection! Some users experienced an even greater reduction of up to 75 degrees.
Combating Fraud with AI Deepfake Detection
Deepfakes, or manipulated videos that appear real, pose a growing threat. To address this concern, Honor presents AI Deepfake Detection. This technology helps prevent fraud and identify fake content by analyzing frame-by-frame details. These details include eye contact, lighting, image clarity, and video playback fluidity. This sophisticated AI detects inconsistencies that often go unnoticed by the human eye.
AI Deepfake Detection is trained using an extensive database of fraudulent videos and images. This allows it to swiftly identify, screen, and compare content in a mere three seconds. If the AI detects any signs of manipulation or artificiality, it immediately alerts the user, safeguarding them from potential scams.
