Easy MTK Firmware Flashing / Installation Via SP FlashTool

Installing or Flashing your device with a stock firmware is pretty easy and simple using SP FlashTool. This tool works specifically with MTK (Mediatek) devices (G-tide, Gionee, Tecno, etc). If you need help with flashing stock firmware on a different device that doesn't run on Mediatek chipset, please ask in comments.

How To Flash With Sp FlashTool

Step One: Download and install drivers for your device. If you can't find your device driver, us this guide to download and install the driver.

Step Two: Download Sp Flashtool and the your phone's firmware package.

Step Three: Extract Sp FlashTool and your firmware package to different folders

Step Four: Open SP FlashTool folder and launch SP Flashtool.exe as Administrator

Step Five: Click on Scatter-loading, browse and select scatter file from the folder you extracted the downloaded firmware to. (scatter file example: MT6582_Android_scatter.txt

Step Six: Click on Download and connect the device to PC via USB cable. Device must be turned off, before attaching to pc.

Step Seven: Once the device is connected to PC, a progress bar will start loading. Wait for it to complete. A green circle with Ok should popup to indicate completion.

Step Eight: Disconnect the device and perform a factory reset before you power on fully.

  1. my mtk 6582 was a lg clone ...3gb 32 gb rom version ...... I flashed it with custom rom it turns on but remains on black screen .....plz help

    1. You will have to flash your device with its stock ROM. What's the device model exactly?
